What the...?!

Well, spring is here in Spokane. The flowers are blooming, the grass is starting to turn green...oh wait, winter is back. This morning we woke up to more snow. I grumbled about shoveling and Betsy was concerned that her Tuesday tee time has to be cancelled.

Spring? Is that you? Did you get lost?

Oh well, the NCAA DI Men's Hockey Tournament started yesterday, so I guess it's only fitting. The Minnesota Golden Gophers hit a hot streak and worked their way into the tournament for a DI record 32nd time...Go Gophers Rah!

Ski-U-Mah!

Happy Easter!

You may ask, "What is she looking at?" Most likely the Easter Bunny sprinting out the back door. Today Elsa discovered the joys of Easter. We started the day by lounging around the homestead and watching college basketball. After a scrumptious breakfast of rice cereal and/or coffee we got Elsa all dressed up in her Easter finest and headed to church. Turns out Elsa likes the choir and the music very much. So much so that it put her to sleep and she spent the rest of the service snoring in the back row. Ah, so sweet. After the service ended, we went in search of an Easter brunch...someone, probably me, but I'm not saying, didn't make any reservations. We finally found that Luigi's restaurant in Spokane has a pretty decent brunch on Easter. Luckily we got a table and had a fine time. Elsa was very well behaved and even drew a compliment from the owner. After brunch we had an exciting trip to the grocery and headed for home. The afternoon was pretty uneventful and relaxing. We have been thinking about family and friends today and we hope all of you had happy Easter Sundays as well!!

"I think something is definately going on around here...wait a second, is that a tooth?!"

"Thanks to everyone for the great Easter presents! Is this what all eggs taste like?"

Awww...

Can't leave out daddy.

St. Patrick's Day!!

Elsa's first St. Patrick's Day was all kinds of fun! We dressed her in her Irish t-shirt for the day which was a gift from our dear friends Eric and Colleen Nelson in Minnesota. They traveled to Ireland and brought Elsa the adorable t-shirt above! Elsa spent the morning hours of St. Paddy's Day at daycare like a usual Monday. She then got to go see her Pediatrician for her 6 month well child exam in the afternoon. She was even spared shots since her ears are still recovering from a recent ear infection. We will have to return for shots in April. Her visit went great, we love her doctor! She is right on track for size and developmental milestones. She is now 16 pounds 5 ounces (44th percentile) and 26 3/4 inches long (63rd percentile)!! Essentially, the average baby...but we find her to be much more than that!! She is liking sweet potatoes a lot more than the peas the past few weeks and loving her rice cereal. Elsa spent the afternoon on Monday with Mommy at the Early Head Start office. We had a blast! Since my program is all about infants and toddlers, Elsa is quite the hit at the office! Anyway, all is well here in Spokane. We are having a busy week and looking forward to Easter on Sunday and Spring!! We'll post some Easter pictures next week. Betsy

What a cute Daddy-Daughter moment!

All smiles for Elsa and I!

3 Generations of ladies out for dinner at the Elk in Spokane.

We're both happy to see the snow is almost gone!!

My parents came over from Missoula for a visit this weekend. We had a great time! My Dad had not seen Elsa since Thanksgiving and my Mom since mid-December so it had been awhile. She has changed so much since then! We are finally getting some decent weather, so my Dad and Kennet played a little golf Saturday while my Mom, Elsa, and I did a little shopping! We all headed out to a dinner at one of our favorite places in Spokane, The Elk. I know it sounds a little funny, but it is a really fun pub/grill that is completely kid/baby friendly. We went out for Sunday brunch and showed my parents our new offices before they left town. Kennet and I have both recently made moves from cubicles to actual offices (doors, windows, etc)! We were excited to show my parents our new spaces. Kennet is doing well at USKH in the Historic Flour Mill building on the river in Spokane. My office moved from right in downtwon Spokane to near the WSU/EWU Riverpoint campus area. Here are a few photos from the weekend and March thus far!
