Memorial Day at Flathead Lake!

Last weekend, we headed up to my parent's cabin on Flathead Lake. It was Elsa's first trip to the cabin and she had a great time! The weather was not great and it was definitely not warm enough to even think about swimming, but we were not expecting that on Memorial Day anyway. The water is low this time of year and the lake is not full until mid-June anyway. The weekend consisted of bonfires, golf, bbq's, and a lot of hanging out. It was great! Brittany and Cameron moved to Polson this winter and just moved into their new house this month, so there are a few pictures of their place below. We're looking forward to our next trip up there for the extended Bondurant family gathering over the 4th of July! Enjoy the photos!!

"Beer can chickens" and vegies on the grill!

Enjoying smores at the bonfire!

Don't burn it!!

Oops, a little too much smoke in the eyes...

Shopping in Polson, this was actually at the flower nursery, not sure why the cart says Ben Franklin...

The cabin!!
Again, not the best weather...

Finally, a picture of the 3 of us...this rarely happens!

My First Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful First Mother's Day last Sunday! I am finally getting the pictures off the camera and onto to blog! Kennet offered to cook whatever I wanted for dinner. I requested seafood kabobs and a tomato/mozzerella salad. Above are the kabobs he made with shrimp and scallops along with jasmine rice! Below a few pictures, you will see the delighful salad!
We went out to breakfast at a fun place nearby called Chaps. Then, we spent the day wandering downtown and relaxing at home with Elsa. Kennet is getting some pictures framed of Elsa for me and still trying to talk me into new golf clubs...I am really attached to the old ones though. All in all, what a great day it was!
Elsa made me (with the help of her daycare teachers!) a plaster/play dough mold of one hand and one foot! I love it, what a sweet gift!

Here she is ready for me to open her gift!!

Just playing and having fun!

Elsa is showing off her artwork!

The salad I told you about! Yummy! Roma tomatoes, fresh mozzerella and fresh basil covered with a little olive oil and balsalmic vinegar!

Kentucky Derby Day

Okay, we are usually about a week or so behind on the blogging so here are a few pictures from Derby Day last Saturday. Yes, we love to watch the horses, but were very sad for the poor philly Eight Belles. Kennet and I thought it would be fun to make Mint Julips for the race...see below. I thought I really liked them until I gave one a try...GROSS!!!!!!!! I got them confused with mojitos (which have rum and are really good). Mint julips have bourbon apparently and are disgusting. But, here is Kennet making them and having fun with it anyway!

We'll get some Mother's Day pics on in the next day or so...have to get them off the camera!

Last Weekend in Missoula...

Happy Birthday Grammy!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Missoula last weekend to see my parents (Grammy Barb and Papa Bryce), Elsa's Great-Grandma Helen, and my sister Brittany and our brother-in-law Cameron. It was my Mom's birthday Friday and Elsa gave her some pottery above! We all pitched in and had a great birthday dinner (ok, my Dad cooked the prime rib and Kennet cooked the rest!)...Brittany and I are really good at organizing and providing the dessert and wine!! It was a great time! Dad, Kennet, and Cameron played some golf. Mom, Britt, and I hung out with Elsa. Brittany and Cameron moved to Polson, MT in January so we are thrilled to have them closer! We will see the house they just bought in Polson over Memorial Day weekend when we head up tp Flathead Lake. Here are a few of the other photos from the weekend. We finally were able to get outside and enjoy the nice weather!!

Papa and Elsa enjoy the sun on the back deck at my parents house.

Auntie Brittany and Uncle Cameron having fun with Elsa.

More poses on the deck...

Uncle Cameron and the rest of us think this is funnier than Elsa does...

First time in the grass...not sure how she feels about it!

Kennet's parents Susanna and Poul came for a visit this past weekend. Elsa likes to call them Nona (Italian for Grandma) and Far Far (Danish for Father's Father). We had a great weekend! Kennet and I both took Friday off to make it a longer weekend and really enjoyed the visit! We started the weekend at one of our favorite places, Rockwood Bakery for coffee and pastry. We took Elsa for a set of professional pictures on Friday that turned out pretty adorable in our opinions! We also took in Barrister Winery in Spokane (we highly recommend it) and a great gourmet cheese shop. Kennet cooked a fabulous dinner for all of us that night. Saturday was touring around Spokane a little as well as a beautiful walk through Riverfront Park and taking in the falls of the Spokane River downtown. We spent a lot of time catching up, taking pictures, and playing with Elsa! It was a relaxing weekend and we really enjoyed it! Thanks Poul and Susanna for the books, blocks, and train for Elsa! Enjoy the photos!!

Let's play!

So I guess I don't really have any special reason to update the blog other than these pictures are pretty darn cute, especially the one of yours truely...grrrr. Things around here have been progressing nicely. Betsy started golf league last night and Elsa and I have begun our "daddy daughter Tuesdays". The first one went swimmingly. We seem to both enjoy The Simpsons; Elsa for it's sarcastic view of traditional Americana and me, well I like the pretty colors and shapes.

Strike a pose, supermodel style

Dad doing some minor construction

Where's the grub?! Bring on the mushed carrots...yummy!

Stacking away.

Daddy thinks this one is just cute.

Mmmmmm.

PS. I can't wait to see you next week Nona and Far Far!!!
